Came here for weekend lunch and it was busy but we got sat right away. Well, we were instructed to go to the table in the far back and was then forgotten about. It was hard to flag someone down because everyone seemed to have their own tables to worry about. Eventually, the lady who "sat" us brought us menus and a different lady came to take our orders...eventually haha.
SERVICE
Overall, not great.
FOOD
- Menudo: The best thing we ordered! It was supposed to come with patas but nada. I'm not sure if you have to ask for hominy but ours just came with tripe.
- Quesabirria: Comes with 4 tacos and consome AND it's made with lamb. I wasn't a fan because it was a little gamey, but the meat was super tender. There wasn't a whole lot of cheese either.
- Guadalajara combo plate (3 set items with beans and rice): I guess you can only choose one type of meat. The plate was messily plated with everything just blending with each other. The crispy taco came with chicken meat cooked with tomatoes; it was okay but tasted better with the house red salsa. The chile relleno was not good at all; it was super soggy and mushy, and the chile tasted off. The enchilada was made with green pork (random since I ordered chicken) and the meat was super stringy, dry, and tough.
- Sangria: Might be one of the worst sangrias I've ever had haha. It didn't come with any fruits and it just tasted like stale wine that was watered down (it was very light in color too). I don't think anyone really orders this and hence why it's terribly made.
Even though I didn't have a great first experience, this wouldn't stop me from returning to try other items on the menu BUT I'm also in no rush to return soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amaresh S.South Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CAMar 5, 2024
I got the cheese enchiladas with red sauce from Gallardos. The food was quite good, though I think I missed out being vegetarian. The flavors were good, but since most of the items on the menu contain meat of some sort, it is hard to recommend this place if you are only going for the vegetarian options. Still, the quality of the ingredients was high, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the ambiance was good (could tell it was an authentic place based on the clientele). One downside is that it is cash-only, but they do have an ATM on premise

The place was very dead and awkward, no music and one other pair there. The service was okay, however they only accept cash which I didn't see announced. Food was okay, meat was very chewy but I guess eatable. Prices were reasonable.

So much delicious food on one menu it was nearly impossible to choose. The chicken fajitas and the flauta were both delicious and spiced just right. Service was friendly and great atmosphere for a casual sit down

Great breakfast spot!
Lots of options and huge portions! I got their quesabirria which is packed with flavor and juice.
I've been here a few times now and always overwhelmed with all my options on the menu, but I can't wait to try more!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 2, 2023
Hell yeah. Classic Mexican family restaurant in the mission. Frequent this place, send your friends here, eat here, often, keep this place afloat; it's the kind of place we want to keep in the mission. I suspect the bougie, Instagram crowd might find this place a little too basic, but if you're looking for a authentic Mexican food with handmade tortillas, check this place out.
Their machaca is delicious, their breakfast burritos are fantastic, the soups on the weekends are great. I've ordered lots of different things here, some of them are OK. Many of them are fantastic. If you are new to San Francisco and make over $100,000, go here at least once a month as a practice to keep part of the old city you missed out on alive. Try something new every time and leave a big tip. The folks who work here will remember your face and will likely start giving you free things and treating you like family.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 4, 2023
I got a veggie burrito. It was very large, but flavor just OK. Waitress was nice, quite busy. Space not fancy, but comfortable.

Great spot, close to Dolores! They're cash only but have an ATM inside. Portions are large and well priced! And service is incredibly fast as well.
I got the quesabirria which was really flavorful especially in the consomeHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lama L.San Francisco, CA112May 2, 2024
The service is fast. The food is excellent and sometimes they have live music. It's pretty nice inside.
