    Bengaluru-bound IndiGo plane declares emergency at Delhi airport

    The A320 aircraft was taxiing and emergency was declared due to suspected fire in one of the engines. There were more than 180 people on board, the source said.

    Bengaluru-bound IndiGo plane on Friday declared emergency after suspected fire in one of the engines at the time of taxiing at the Delhi airport.

    The IndiGO flight 6E2131 carrying 180 people on board experienced an engine stall during take-off roll and landed at Delhi airport.

    An official statement released by the airline said the aircraft was safely returned to the bay after aborting the take-off.

    "An aircraft operating flight 6E2131 from Delhi to Bangalore experienced a technical issue while on take-off roll, immediately after which the pilot aborted the take off and the aircraft safely returned to the bay," IndiGO said.

    "All passengers and crew are safe and an alternate aircraft was arranged to operate the flight, which took off at 0016 hrs on Oct 29," it added.

    We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers, it said.
