Ashneer Grover, known for his candid critiques on 'Shark Tank India', has sparked controversy by allegedly forcing the removal of a roast video where he was the target. Comedian Aashish Solanki, winner of 'Comicstaan 3', shared the news on Instagram, revealing that episode 5 of his 'Pretty Good Roast Show' was taken down from YouTube to avoid a legal confrontation. Solanki commented, “Ep 5 of Pretty Good Roast hata diya hai doston. Legal battle ladne ka paisa nahi hai. Sab show pe laga diya tha (The episode has been removed, my friends. I don’t have money to fight a legal battle as I used up all of it to create this show).”

According to Solanki, Ashneer Grover allegedly demanded the removal of the episode where Solanki roasted him. The roast included a jibe at Grover’s ouster from BharatPe, with Solanki quipping, “TV pe log talent dikhane jaat hai, ye aukat dikha ke aa gaya. Samajh gaye kiski baat kar raha hoon main? Apni company se kaun nikala jata hai yaar?” (People show their talent on TV, he showed everyone his status. Which entrepreneur gets kicked out of their own company?).

    Ashneer Grover’s Controversy Background

Ashneer Grover was removed from BharatPe in March 2022 amidst allegations of financial misconduct involving him and his family. Solanki’s roast referenced this controversy, which seemingly didn’t sit well with Grover.

Trendbullet.in reported that sources close to the production confirmed Grover personally requested the removal of his segment from the show. Despite the episode being taken down, a clip from it circulated widely on X (formerly Twitter), sparking criticism against Grover. One user commented, “Making fun of others on Shark Tank and social media but can’t handle the heat when it’s directed at him.”

Aashish Solanki’s Statement On Roast Humour

Aashish Solanki addressed the issue further on Instagram, writing, “The response of previous episodes led us to believe our audiences were ready for roast humour. However, it seems that some, especially those in power, are not quite there yet. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Stay tuned for the next episode, coming soon! Love, Aashish.”

The incident has led to a backlash against Grover on social media. Critics have labeled his actions hypocritical, with one user stating, “Hope people stop giving that chapri @Ashneer_Grover this much attention. He's the Rakhi Sawant of startup world.” Another user tweeted, "Why did he even attend a freaking roast show if he can't handle the roasting?"

Grover's actions have been called out by both fans and fellow entrepreneurs, who argue that he should have been able to take the jokes in stride, given his own history of harsh criticisms on 'Shark Tank India'.
