This was Cruise's first appearance at Cannes after almost 30 years, so obviously it had to be grand and the festival wanted to make up for lost time. Before the beginning of his film's screening, a montage of 15-minute-long reel containing the actor's filmography was played on the screen. There was also a 'Rendezvous with Tom Cruise' - a Q&A.

"After everything we've been through, it's such a privilege to see your faces," the actor said, at the end of the clip screening as he received a standing ovation.
