On Thursday night, actress Deepika Padukone, who was shooting for Shakun Batra's next film in Goa, arrived in Mumbai and was seen leaving the Mumbai airport along with husband, Ranveer Singh.

The couple arrived at Mumbai airport around 9.15pm. They reportedly boarded a chartered flight from Goa at around 8pm. NCB sources confirmed, “Deepika Padukone has acknowledged the summons and has submitted to joining the investigation on Saturday.”

Earlier, reports had emerged that Ranveer Singh has requested the NCB to join the investigation with her wife, Padukone, citing her 'anxiety' issues. However, the NCB sources confirmed to TOI that they have not received any such request. “There are questions that whether Ranveer Singh is joining investigation with Deepika. We confirm that we have not received any such request from any summoned person. The last email received from the concerned summoned person is only regarding joining the investigation,” stated NCB sources.

Sara Ali Khan, too, arrived in Mumbai on Thursday night. Khan, who too was in Goa, reached Mumbai with her mother, actor Amrita Singh and brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan around 5pm and headed to their suburban Juhu residence.

Khan made her acting debut opposite Rajput in the 2018 film "Kedarnath".

Meanwhile, in the drugs probe by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), actress Rakul Preet Singh, who was summoned by the agency on Thursday, has now arrived at the NCB guest house for first round of questioning. Rakul's name had emerged in the alleged 'drug chats' which were retreived by the NCB while probing the drug angle in actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

According to a Times Now report, Rakul reached the NCB office on Friday morning. Karishma Prakash, the manager of actress Deepika Padukone, also arrived at the agency guest house for questioning on Friday.

In another development, the NCB on Thursday asked Dharma Productions' executive producer Kshitiz Ravi to appear before it in the drugs probe linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's death, an official said.

The NCB, which began the probe after a drugs angle came to light in connection with Rajput's alleged suicide, has now widened its investigation and called film celebrities for questioning.

Rajput (34) was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14. His death has sparked a lot of controversy in the media and the case is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the NCB.

His girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, who has been accused of abetting Rajput's suicide by his family, has been arrested in a drugs case linked to his death.
