Along with Pushkar Singh Dhami, the CM of Uttarakhand, Yogi Adityanath also attended the screening of the Kangana Ranaut-starrer.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday watched 'Tejas', a film starring Kangana Ranaut, here. The special screening of the action thriller film, directed by Sarvesh Mewara, was held at the city's Lokbhavan Auditorium.

Ranaut shared a series of pictures from the film's screening on her official X page.

"Today hosted a screening of #tejas a film based on a soldier / Martyr's life for honourable Chief Minister @myogiadityanath ji. As you can see in the first picture Maharaj ji couldn't hold back his tears in the last monologue of Tejas," the actor captioned her post on the microblogging site.

In a separate post, Ranaut said Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, also attended the film's show in Lucknow.

Before the film's screening, the actress said 'Tejas' inculcates a "sense of nationalism" in citizens.

"This is a film based on the Indian Air Force. We are very confident that nationalist people will watch this film... We want this film to reach the people. Since the (ICC Cricket) World Cup is going on, people are not going to the theatre with that much enthusiasm. So, I am also making an effort to get people to watch our film," she told reporters here.

"You know how many enemies nationalistic films have. There are different enemies in the country, different enemies in films. So, I need his (Adityanath's) support," the actor added.

UP's Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi, cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi', transport minister Dayashankar Singh, and minority welfare minister Dharampal Singh also attended the screening..

Before the release of 'Tejas' last week, the actor also hosted a special screening for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as well as many Indian Air Force officers in Delhi.

'Tejas' stars Ranaut in the titular role of an Indian Air Force pilot. The movie is produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
