All newer iPads have beautiful displays. Why not put that display to good use by using it as an external monitor for your Mac? This tiny adapter from Luna Display does exactly that – wirelessly, without any setup and in the most hassle-free way possible. The only thing you need to do is plug in the Luna Display, connect your Mac and iPad to the same WiFi network and download the Luna Display software on both. Once you start the app on the iPad, it automatically connects to the server software on the Mac.

Just like any other second monitor, you can mirror/extend the display and choose the placement (to the left or right of the main computer). You’ll soon realize that having a large second display is the most underrated productivity tool. Rather than constantly switching between apps or resizing the boundaries, you can keep all important activity open to see at a glance. We tried it with the web, Office document editing and Photoshop – it just works! Since it’s completely wireless, there’s no cable clutter and you can also place the iPad at a distance.

There are a couple of downsides though. Luna Display won’t work with any kind of USB C dongle or adapter, so keep that in mind if your Mac only has two USB C ports. Second, the wireless nature of the display signal means that it can’t be used for video mirroring from the Mac. Depending on which Mac you’re using, you can buy either the USB-C variant or Mini DisplayPort. They both work in the same way. Unfortunately, you cannot use two Luna Display on the same Mac (for two wireless displays) and there is no Windows version (but they’re working on it). Luna Display ships to India for an additional US$ 9.

If you’re looking for a cheaper solution for the same thing, there’s always Duet Display (a wired solution that works on both Windows and Mac). You need the app for Rs 799 and a USB C to Lightning cable for Rs 499 onwards.
