Both Chaudhry and Kher got emotional in the video.
Earlier today actor Anupam Kher took to Instagram to share a video of Mahima Chaudhry in which the ‘Pardes’ actress revealed that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Chaudhry, looking at camera, recalled how she had seen receiving offers of web series and shows as she tackled breast cancer and had to refuse those offers until Kher called her for his film, ‘The Signature’. The actress said that while letting down the offers she did not reveal about her health condition, however, when Kher called and asked her to do the film, she told him that she will have to wear a wig in it. When the 67-year-old actor asked her why she would need a wig, she told him that she had lost all her hair during the cancer treatment. As Chaudhry recounted the conversation she broke down in tears. However, after a few pauses, she continued to talk about her fight against cancer.

The actress said, “ I didn’t have any symptoms. I do yearly checkups, and during one such checkup, during my sonography, I was asked to consult doctor Mandar, who is an oncologist.” She said that she felt very perplexed when she went to visit the doctor, but he told her that it doesn’t look like its cancerous, however, asked the actress to undergo a biopsy. To err on the side of caution the actress decided to get the pre-cancerous cells removed from her body, and post-operation it was found that those cells had tiny cancerous components for which the actress had to undergo chemotherapy.

Chaudhry revealed that she initially didn’t tell her parents about the cancer diagnosis because they were so vulnerable and said that she derived strength from others she met during her chemo sessions.

The actress thanked Kher and said, "Anupam has been such an angel in my journey. I bless him. It takes a fantastic heart to be the great actor he is. He’s an outstanding human being, too." The two are already working on their film, ‘The Signature’ which chronicles the life of a common man.

Kher posted Chaudhry's video earlier today and called the actress 'a real hero', and said that the she has resumed work, and is open to new opportunities in the post.
