The top selling item was the actress's grave marker from Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in California, which fetched $2,12,500. The grave marker reads "MARILYN MONROE/1926 – 1962".
In addition to this, Monroe's dress from the film Something's Gotta Give went for $3,48,000 while a Hugh Hefner-signed premiere issue of Playboy featuring Monroe on the cover sold for $87,500.
The auction also featured an embellished Versace gown that belonged to Princess Diana. The gown, which was worn by Diana in a 1991 photo shoot by her official photographer Patrick Demarchelier, fetched $1,92,000.
The images of Diana wearing the gown were used on the cover of the November 1997 Harper's Bazaar and on the cover of the book, Diana: The Portrait. This is also the first gown Versace designed for Diana.
