Apple, the Cupertino based tech giant, is rumoured to be developing the A19 Bionic and M5 chips that can boost the performance benchmarks of upcoming iPhones and Macs.

Although there has been no official confirmation from the company regarding this development, a tipster named @_orangera1n on X (via Wccftech) has highlighted Apple's ongoing work on the A19 and M5 Pro/Max/Ultra SOCs.

According to their report, the A17 Bionic SoC is expected to power the future iPhone 17 series, anticipated no sooner than 2025.

The existing iPhone 14 Pro's A16 Bionic, housing 16 billion transistors, is expected to see an increase in numbers with the upcoming 3nm A17 Bionic.

However, the real eye catcher is the anticipation regarding the A19 Bionic chip, which might make use of 2nm technology, a leap in chip fabrication.

This also implies that development work on the A18 Bionic, expected to power the iPhone 16 series, is either finished or nearing completion.

Apart from this, Apple is also working on the M5 PC chip for the Mac lineup. This leak also comed from the same tipster, who says the report stems from CPU IDs.

They also claimed that similar to Apple’s current-generation M series chips, the M5, will be available in ‘Pro,’ ‘Max’ and ‘Ultra’ variants.

Separately, in the realm of iPhone improvements, there's talk of a potential remedy for charging concerns plaguing the iPhone ecosystem. Speculation suggests that select variants of the upcoming iPhone 15 series could feature greatly enhanced charging speeds.
