Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, better known to the world by his stage name KK, would have turned 54 today. The ace singer, who gave us multiple hit songs such as 'Zara Sa', 'Khuda Jaane', 'Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai' and 'Alvida', died on May 31 while performing live at an event in Kolkata.

On the veteran singer's 54th birth anniversary, KK's children - son Nakul Krishna and daughter Taamara Krishna - have organised a tribute concert for the fans.

"We thought that the best way to keep ourselves occupied and be focused and still give him a tribute was through a show. He loved being on stage and performing. The concert is the right thing to do. I can’t think of any other way to spend his first birth anniversary. To be honest, it’s a bitter-sweet feeling," Nakul revealed in an interview with News18.

KK's daughter shared that the kids never sang with their dad much earlier, but now with him gone, they hope he hears them now.

The singer's kids further revealed that after their father passed, the two wondered how they would get through birthdays, which the 53-year-old loved celebrating with the family.

"When dad passed away, I was thinking about how we would get through birthdays. We would spend all our birthdays together. If he had a show planned, he would tell his manager that he wouldn’t work on those days," Nakul said, while Taamara added that if KK had to attend a show at all, then the whole family would join him.

The tribute concert scheduled for today, 'KK Forever', will see several artistes such as Papon, Shaan, Pritam, Leslie Lewis, Benny Dayal and Dhvani Bhanushali taking over the stage and mesmersing fans in Mumbai.

Apart from this, the late singer's original band will be performing at the concert.

The tribute concert will be held at Dublin Square in Phoenix Market City located in Mumbai's Kurla.
