Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover recently took a veiled dig over actor Ranveer Singh for a geograohical gaffe.
Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover has hit back at Bollywood star Ranveer Singh for sharing a photo of Maldives by mistake while joining in the boycott of the island, in a bid to promote Indian counterparts.

Retweeting a post of Emmy-winning actor-comedian Vir Das, the former ‘Shark Tank India’ judge took a potshot at the ‘Gully Boy’ star’s general knowledge blunder.

“Thirdly there is some movie star, previously inactive on Twitter, who is now copy-pasting the same message to visit Indian islands - without knowing where Lakshadweep is and in parallel hiding previous Maldive story on Insta ;)” wrote the entrepreneur.

Earlier, the ‘Ram Leela’ actor faced a huge backlash, when he shared a picture of Maldives by mistake, in his attempt to join the mass economic boycott against the island.

Taking to X, he tweeted, “This year let's make 2024 about exploring India and experiencing our culture. There is so much to see and explore across the beaches and the beauty of our country... Chalo India let's #exploreindianislands Chalo bharat dekhe.”

While his post went viral, it did for the wrong reasons, as some pointed out he had shared the picture of the wrong archipelago. Although the actor deleted his post, he later reuploaded it with the correct picture but continued to be targeted by trolls.

India entered into a diplomatic row with Maldives after a minister named Mariyam Shiuna made some derogatory remarks about PM Narendra Modi, who was on a visit, promoting Lakshadweep.
