WhatsApp is always working on different new features to enhance user experience on the instant-messaging platform and also maintain its hold in the competitive tech world where apps like Telegram, Signal and more are constantly going through fresh updates.

According to recent reports, the Meta-owned giant is currently working on a new feature that will work as an alternative for authenticating users on the platform. The upcoming feature will make the logging in process a lot easier for users by skipping the digit-code verification. As per a report in WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will use the flash calls features to help users log into the messaging platform without them typing any code on the phone.

The update, which is currently only available on WhatsApp beta for Android, is completely automatic. WhatsApp will use flash calls to automatically log into the accounts of users. Usually WhatsApp sends out a six-digit OTP on the user's phone via SMS or call.

To make the login process easiest, users can enable flash calls authentication by making changes inside WhatsApp settings.

    How Does This Work?
The instant-messaging platform will give users a short call to authenticate the log in. For this feature to function and tech giant will need access to the user's call history, location and SMS inbox.

The WABetaInfo report claimed that the process will be "very safe" as the phone number from which the user will receive a call will always be different, making it impossible for anyone to trick the feature into letting scamsters log into different WhatsApp accounts.

The flash calls feature won't be coming out for iOS users anytime soon as Apple does not provide a public API to let WhatsApp reach the device's call history.

On the other hand, WhatsApp will also soon launch an 'Undo' button which will retrieve your deleted messages in the chat.
