    Chinese national questioned, flown out of valley

    The J&K Police this week briefly questioned a Chinese national, in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir, who was travelling from Leh towards Srinagar and carried an Aadhaar card as well.

    The foreigner, identified as Yang Xuhong, 47, was spotted by police while he was travelling in Ganderbal district, which connects Kashmir with Kargil of the Union Territory of Ladakh. According to officials, Yang Xuhong had arrived in Leh in a flight and stayed there for some time before travelling towards Kashmir by road.

    IGP in Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, did not respond to questions sent by ET regarding the incident.

    His Chinese passport - PE2xxxxxx - was issued from Mumbai in 2021 and is valid until 2026, they said, adding that his place of birth is mentioned as Gansu in China. Yang told the police that he "works in Mumbai and needed an Aadhaar card for official purposes" in the company he works for, according to the people. After questioning, he was flown out of the Valley in a flight earlier this week, they said.
