The India growth story is "here, now and real" as the country surges ahead under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "strong and bold" government, Times Group managing director Vineet Jain said on Thursday.

"It's not often that a nation's growth is acclaimed across the world. We bear witness to an 'Amrit kaal' that promises to reap India's great demographic dividend and bring widespread prosperity to Indians," Jain said during his keynote address at the Times Network India Economic Conclave (IEC) here.

The theme of the two-day conclave is, 'India: The Emerging Third Superpower'.

"It's not a bullish expectation anymore," Jain said. "Just yesterday, the GDP has beaten all expectations and forecasts to clock 7.2%, higher than any economy in the world."

Data released on Wednesday showed 7.2% growth in FY23.

Jain said the government has unlocked opportunities like "never before" for entrepreneurs, many of whom are young and raring to go.

"As the fastest-growing large economy that is thriving amid global headwinds, backed by growing geopolitical heft and G0 presidency, IEC 2023 explores what lies ahead for India," he said. "It also charts the course of action for businesses so they can fully leverage the benefits of rapid economic expansion."

"We have a confluence of thinkers, policymakers, economists, business leaders, and global influencers under one roof to discuss the roadmap to convert India's aspirations into actions. After all, what's vision without a clearly spelt out mission?" he said.
