Union culture minister Prahlad Patel and chairman of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Nripendra Mishra are set to review the ‘Museum for PMs’ project on Tuesday at the Teen Murti house. The meeting, officials in the know of the matter said, aims to put the project much-delayed due to Covid-19 back on track.

The project in the backyard of the house that former PM Jawaharlal Nehru’s lived in is expected to get ready in the next few months, officials said. The museum was originally planned for a launch at the beginning of 2020 but was pushed to the end of last year. "The building is almost ready, and so is a lot of the creative part," a senior official said. The project is seen as among the most important cultural work by the Narendra Modi government to affirm its legacy. Not only did the government, over the last few years, replace most members who opposed the idea with those allied with the BJP ideology, but also roped in senior bureaucrats Mishra and culture secretary Raghavendra Singh to monitor its working.

While the building for the Teen Murti Estate that houses the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library has been built by the CPWD, the museum has hired vendors and agencies to develop audio-visual content, running a cafe and souvenir shop, and carrying out branding, marketing and online services for the project.
