Close behind, a 43-year-old regulatory associate from Kondapur faced a loss of Rs 35.5 lakh, having fallen prey to fraudsters purporting to manage an online trading platform. Similarly, a 30-year-old auditor residing in Shamshabad found himself at a loss of Rs 21.8 lakh after being promised a salary of Rs 16,000 and a 0.4% commission for the virtual purchase of online products from an American company.
Another instance involved a 31-year-old techie residing in Gachibowli, who encountered a situation similar to that of the aforementioned software engineer. This individual was coaxed into subscribing and liking YouTube channels, enticed by a Rs 50 payment for each task. Regrettably, he lost Rs 12 lakh in this transaction.
Adding to the unfortunate list of victims, a deputy manager from a private bank located in Ghatkesar was ensnared by a comparable fraud, this time revolving around liking and following Instagram pages with the same alluring 50 offer. This deputy manager incurred a loss of Rs 10.7 lakh, as confirmed by law enforcement officials.
Lastly, a techie residing in Manikonda was also deceived into reviewing restaurants on Google Maps in exchange for a Rs 50 remuneration per task. It wasn't until later that he realized he had been swindled, losing a total of Rs 10.45 lakh to the cunning fraudsters.
