Third Eye: Chinese action plan in India, Actor-politician gives her best shot, PM Modi keeps a keen eye on first few rows

    Synopsis

Chinese ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, has been actively promoting clean energy partnerships between India and China since assuming office, filling a position vacant since 2022. Rumors suggest a senior Chinese official may visit India after the new government forms, ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. Meanwhile, Bhojpuri actress and SP's Gorakhpur candidate, Kaajal Nishad, emotionally appealed to voters from her Nishad community in a video, urging them to support her.

    Chinese Action Plan in India
Xu Feihong, Chinese ambassador to India, has hit the ground running. The position had been vacant since 2022. Xu has been advocating clean energy partnership between India and China besides engaging with think tanks and business chambers. Grapevine has it that a senior Chinese dignitary, ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, may visit India next month after the formation of the new government.

Actor Politician gives her Best Shot
SP’s Gorakhpur candidate, Bhojpuri actress Kaajal Nishad, was at her histrionic best when she appealed to voters from her Nishad community to extend their support to her. In a video she posted on social media platforms, Nishad was seen shedding tears while seeking the “gift of vote” on June 1, which also happens to be her birthday. “If this time, you do not save the prestige of the Nishad community, then in future no one will trust a Nishad... No one will give a ticket to a Nishad,” she was seen telling the community.

Keeping a Keen Eye on First Few Rows
Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept a keen eye on people in the first few rows in every rally he addressed. On some occasions, he acknowledged sketches and paintings from his young supporters. He often expressed concern during his speech over any enthusiastic supporter placing himself precariously on some high pole or platform. On Wednesday, when he noticed that a journalist had fainted due to intense heat, he directed his medical team to attend to the reporter, who was shifted to a nearby hospital.
