Men in Blue Vice Captain Hardik Pandya expressed his excitement to play in the high-stakes match of the tournament ahead of Saturday's highly anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In an ICC video, Virat Kohli reminisced the T20 World Cup encounter with Pakistan in Australia, stating that he could feel the buzz in the stadium as soon as he entered. The excitement that builds up before the game inside the hotel and outside is what makes it so unique, Kohli continued.

"The lead-up to games like these is what makes it so special. The buzz in the hotel. The buzz in Melbourne in general and outside the stadium was amazing and the moment I stepped onto the field I felt that energy in the stadium," Virat Kohli said in an ICC video.

Hardik Pandya, 30, said that it is going to be a very exciting time during this marquee game.

"Definitely on the 14th of this month, it will top that you know. 110,000 people cheering. I can't wait, it going to be a very exciting time," Hardik Pandya added.

It will be fantastic to simply feel the atmosphere of the tournament's most anticipated encounter, India head coach Rahul Dravid continued.

In addition, he mentioned how fortunate he has been to watch multiple India-Pakistan cricket matches throughout his cricket career.

"It is going to be great to just experience that environment. Experience, the atmosphere that is going to be there at an India-Pakistan game in India in Ahmedabad. The game is probably one of the most incredible environments that I have been privileged to be a part of." Rahul Dravid added.

India will be bursting with confidence going into this match, having defeated both Australia and Afghanistan in their opening two games of the glitzy tournament.

The last time India and Pakistan met each other was in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match, where Rohit Sharma's Men in Blue defeated Babar Azam's team by 228 runs.

India has played two matches in the ODI World Cup and now has four points, a net run rate of 1.500, and is in third place.
