    Amid his wedding festivities, Shaheen Shah Afridi responds to rumours of rift with Babar Azam

    Shaheen Shah Afridi has denied reports of a rift with Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam. Afridi posted a photo on social media, showing himself, Azam, and father-in-law Shahid Afridi, with the caption "Family" and a heart emoji. Reports had surfaced claiming that Afridi and Azam had a heated argument in the dressing room after Pakistan's defeat to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. Afridi's post seems to suggest that the two players are on good terms.

    Pakistani pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi has dismissed reports of rift between him and skipper Babar Azam through a post on social media platform X. On Tuesday, Shaheen Shah Afridi posted a photo with Babar and his father-in-law and former cricketer Shahid Afridi along with the caption: "Family" and also with a heart emoji.

    After Pakistan's shock exit from the Asia Cup, there were reports that a heated verbal argument erupted between Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi in the dressing room after their last-ball defeat to Sri Lanka in a low-scoring thriller in the Asia Cup. Reports said that the heated exchange of words after Babar’s comment "Players are not playing responsibly". Shaheen replied "at least appreciate who bowled and batted well," to which Babar replied 'I know who's performing well,' according to reports.

    Reports also suggested that wicket-keeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan intervened to end the argument.


    Kusal Mendis' 91 and an unbeaten 49 by Charith Asalanka helped Sri Lanka edged out Pakistan by two wickets in a last-ball thriller of the Asia Cup to set up a final clash with India. In that match, Pakistan's star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi set a nail-biting final over after claiming two wickets in the final over and giving away just four runs. Zaman Khan failed to save 9 runs in the final over as Charith Asalanka scored the winning runs to clinch the victory.

    Shaheen Afridi and Ansha got married in an intimate wedding ceremony in February 2023, which was attended by their close family and friends, including Babar Azam. After his return from the Asia Cup, today the couple is celebrating their wedding in a grand style.



    Shaheen Shah Afridi also posted images and videos from the ceremony. Shaheen Afridi is currently ranked 10th in ICC bowlers ranking in ODIs.
