    Life is also about fun and games - not just about work, responsibilities and other serious stuff. Entertainment is as vital to one's survival as is a need to work, eat, sleep and love. During long periods of lockdowns brought on by Covid-19 pandemic, many of us survived tedious confinement by taking refuge in OTT platforms and watching shows, series, documentaries and movies. Cooking got transformed from being a chore to an innovative pastime.

    When it is safe to be outdoors, games on the field and courts are as important for one's mental and physical health as are walking and exercising. Whether you are into spectator sport or are a sportsperson yourself, nothing can compete with the joy of expending energy with friends and team mates. National Geographic, in its January issue, carried a report on why we need to play, and points out that most species engage in fun and games, including dogs, elephants, grasshoppers and butterflies, birds and so many others. It is only human beings who forget to play, as we start taking life and ourselves too seriously.
