Synopsis

There has been a spike in demand in health insurance plans post the Covid-19 outbreak. However, insurers are finding it difficult to convert the queries into actual business. This is because they are yet to come out with customised offerings. Even agents are not trained enough to sell products online.

For long, chronic health under-insurance has plagued India. Blame it on low consumer awareness and insufficient healthcare infrastructure, which have hindered the wide reach of health coverage.
