Synopsis

Having made an indirect entry into the consumer space through bets on a couple of packaging businesses, the homegrown PE firm Kedaara Capital has established its presence through half-a-dozen solid bets.

After raising its maiden fund of USD500 million, Kedaara Capital took nearly six months to strike a deal. In early 2010s, when Manish Kejriwal walked out of his corner office in Temasek India and teamed up with General Atlantic’s Sunish Sharma and Nishant Sharma to launch a desi private-equity fund, the Indian PE-VC space was already crowded. Some 800 funds were scrapping for deals then and the market became bloated and tough, says this ET
