Patel garnered 6,72,988 votes against Revanna's 6,30,339. Explicit videos showing alleged assaults by Prajwal went viral before the election. Following the poll, Prajwal fled to Germany but was arrested upon returning to India. His father, H D Revanna, was also arrested for kidnapping a victim, while his mother, Bhavani Revanna, remains absconding.
