    Final list of candidates for WFI elections announced, former wrestler Kartar in fray for VP post

    Former Indian wrestler Kartar Singh is among five candidates running for four vice-presidential positions in the Wrestling Federation of India elections on 12 August. Current President Brij Bhushan Singh is standing for re-election against Commonwealth Games gold medalist Anita Sheoran.

    Jai Prakash, president of the Delhi state body, has submitted his nomination for three roles, including that of president, in the Wrestling Federation of India’s (WFI) 12 August elections. Sanjay Singh, vice president of UP wrestling, Dushyant Sharma, senior superintendent of police in Jammu and Kashmir, and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Anita Sheoran, have also submitted nominations for the presidential election.
