    Amazon staff at new UK warehouse to strike on January 25

    Workers at Amazon's new distribution centre in Birmingham, England have voted to join ongoing strike action at the company over pay and working conditions, the GMB trade union said on Tuesday.

    UNI Global Union said Amazon would face strikes and protests in more than 30 countries around the world, including the United States, as part of a "Make Amazon Pay" campaign. More than 1,000 workers went on strike at an Amazon hub in Coventry, England, which employs 2,300 people and supplies other warehouses, said Stuart Richards, spokesman for the GMB union.

    Amazon workers are on strike in Europe and the United States. More than 1000 workers have gone on strike and the GMB Union has called it the biggest walkout in Amazon history. The firm however said that it won't affect the customer.

The company emphasised the additional benefits it offers to its workforce.
