    Himachal Pradesh: Six newly elected MLAs take oath

    Former minister and BJP MLA from Dharamshala, Sudhir Sharma was the first to take oath followed by Congress MLA Anuradha Rana from Lahaul and Spiti.     After revolt in Congress, six Congress MLAs -- Rajinder Rana (Sujanpur), Sudhir Sharma (Dharamshala), Ravi Thakur (Lahaul and Spiti), Inder Dutt Lakhanpal (Barsar), Chetanya Sharma (Gagret) and Devinder Kumar Bhutto (Kutlehar) -- had voted in favour of the BJP Rajya Sabha Nominee Harsh Mahajan on February 27.

    Centre sticks to demand for bigger profit share from Vedanta's Rajasthan block

    The Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta had moved the Supreme Court against the Delhi High Court's March order that permitted the government to seek a higher share in the profit upon renewal of the contract. The HC had held that there cannot be an extension of the PSC unconditionally on the same terms and conditions which were prevailing 25 years ago on May 15, 1995, the effective date of the PSC.
