The Reserve Bank of India's directive to levy penalties only in the form of 'penal charges' is posing a tax dilemma for banks. Banks fear that the indirect tax on such levies would attract the goods and services tax (GST). Bulls Charge Ahead: Investors reap over ₹1 L cr as Sensex, Nifty hit new highs
The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 141 points to settle at 77,479. The broader NSE Nifty gained 51 points to end at 23,567.
