    Misleading: Defence Ministry on reports of model of Chinook chopper going missing

    The Defence Ministry and DRDO have dismissed reports of a missing Chinook helicopter model from DefExpo 2020 in Lucknow, calling them misleading. The Defence Ministry spokesperson clarified that DRDO never installed any helicopter model in Lucknow during the event. The DRDO also stated that it had never installed any helicopter model in Lucknow. Officials explained that a dilapidated helicopter model in Lucknow was removed to construct a helipad for the prime minister's visit for a G20-related event.

    India, Germany discuss bilateral security and defence issues

    Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and German Ministry of Defence State Secretary Benedikt Zimmer co-chaired the India-Germany High Defence Committee (HDC) meeting in Berlin. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral security and defence cooperation, including joint exercises in the Indo-Pacific and collaboration in high technology defence projects. The two sides emphasized the importance of closer defence ties and connecting their defence industries. The meeting follows German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius' visit to India in 2023.
