    The final phase of the marathon voting process for the 18th Lok Sabha, spanning seven phases, is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, June 1. In this seventh phase, the fate of 904 candidates contesting across 57 constituencies in seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh will be decided. These include 13 seats each in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, nine in West Bengal, eight in Bihar, six in Odisha, four in Himachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand, and one in Chandigarh. Additionally, elections for 42 Assembly seats in Odisha are also scheduled to take place.

    "The administration is in charge, with BDO and police officers working tirelessly. Every complaint is being thoroughly examined and promptly addressed. However, whenever there is a semblance of normalcy being restored, BJP leaders such as Sukanta Majumdar and Locket Chatterjee rush in to exacerbate the situation. The BJP shows no concern for the women of Sandeshkhali; their only agenda seems to be to sow chaos for electoral gains," she said.

    Around 200 members of the Sikh community staged a demonstration in Kolkata to show support for an IPS officer who alleged that a West Bengal BJP leader called him a 'Khalistani'. The BJP leaders denied the allegations, stating that no one had used that term. The IPS officer questioned the use of the term, stating that it was unfair to label someone a 'Khalistani' based on their religious attire. The Sikh community demanded an apology from the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
