      The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court granted custody of BRS MLC K Kavitha to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) until April 15, a day after her arrest by the agency. The CBI had sought a five-day custodial remand for the BRS leader, alleging that she is withholding information known only to her and has previously failed to cooperate with the investigation despite being summoned.

Gahlot, part of the group of ministers that directed the restructuring of the excise policy, was asked about his connection with Vijay Nair, AAP's former communication-in-charge and a co-accused. Gahlot clarified that he was not residing in the official bungalow allotted to him, where Nair was reportedly living. He also stated that he was never involved in the Goa election campaign.

      CBI may move for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's custody after ED remand is over

      The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is reportedly planning to expedite action against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the Enforcement Directorate's remand ends. CBI may seek Kejriwal's custody, as it investigates the original offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act, for which Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and others have been arrested. The CBI had mentioned the possibility of "high-profile arrests" in the liquor policy case earlier. Kejriwal was previously questioned by the CBI for nine hours in connection with alleged corruption in the excise policy 2021-22.

      The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed the bail plea of AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who was arrested for his alleged role in the money laundering case relating to alleged irregularities in the city government's excise policy. Besides Sisodia, the high court also dismissed the bail pleas of businessmen Abhishek Boinpally, Benoy Babu and Vijay Nair, who are co-accused in the money laundering case lodged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arising from the alleged scam.

      The money laundering case has arisen from a CBI FIR which was lodged after Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena recommended a CBI probe into the new excise policy in 2021 which was later scrapped. The CBI has alleged that Nair was involved in meeting the other co-accused and liquor manufacturers as well as distributors at various hotels in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi for arranging "ill-gotten money through hawala operators".
