The flood situation in Arunachal Pradesh remains severe with major rivers above danger levels in four districts: Namsai, Lohit, Changlang, and East Siang. Landslides have also been reported across the state due to heavy rainfall. In Papum Pare district, a cloudburst triggered water release from the Pare Hydropower Project, prompting warnings to residents downstream. Bordumsa in Changlang district saw the Burha Dehing river overflow, damaging infrastructure and agriculture.

One Assam Rifles personnel injured in encounter with militants in Assam
Suspected militants engaged in a clash with Assam Rifles personnel near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, resulting in one soldier injured. The incident occurred during a convoy's movement towards Margherita. While the attackers' identity remains unconfirmed, NSCN and ULFA(I) are active in the area. The injured personnel received medical evacuation via helicopter. An email purportedly from ULFA(I) claimed responsibility, citing 'Operation Pratishodh' as retaliation for two deceased cadres. Further details are awaited as joint search operations continue.
MHA extends AFSPA for 6 month in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland districts; effective from April 1
The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), which grants sweeping powers to security forces in "disturbed" areas, has been extended for six months in three districts of Arunachal Pradesh and eight districts of Nagaland, along with other areas. The AFSPA allows armed forces personnel to search, arrest, and open fire if deemed necessary for public order. The extension follows a review of the law and order situation in these northeastern states. Despite its removal from 70% of areas in the northeast, the AFSPA remains in force in Jammu and Kashmir.

Two day after two top militants of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura were arrested in Tripura, two more hardcore cadres of the outfit and one of their collaborators were arrested on Saturday immediately after they fled from their Bangladeshi hideout. Police said that acting on specific inputs of Special Branch, North Tripura district Police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) conducted operations in the early morning of Saturday and arrested the extremists near Bhandarima along Bangladesh border.
Manipur govt extends AFSPA in entire state excluding 19 police station areas including Imphal
The extension of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) in the state of Manipur, excluding 19 police station areas including Imphal, was approved by the Governor of Manipur. This means that the entire state of Manipur, except for these specified areas, will be designated as a "Disturbed Area" under AFSPA for a period of six months, starting from October 1.
