Telangana: Six BRS MLCs join Congress
Several legislators from the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) in Telangana have continued to defect to the Congress party. Recently, six sitting members of the Legislative Council joined the Congress, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy present at the official ceremony. The new Congress members include Dande Vital, Bhanuprasad Rao, MS Prabhakar, Boggaparu Dayanand, and Egge Mallesham. AICC Telangana in-charge Deepa Munshi and state minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy also attended the joining event.
BJP plans to field Muslim candidate in UP's assembly bypoll for the first time ever
The BJP is planning to nominate a Muslim candidate for the Kundarki assembly bypoll. Besides Kundarki, bypolls are also due on Karhal, Katehari, Milkipur, Khair, Sisamau, Phulpur, Majahwan, Ghaziabad and Meerapur. Of the 10 bypoll-bound seats, BJP had won Khair, Phulpur and Ghaziabad while SP had won five - Katehari, Karhal, Milkipur, Sisamau and Kundarki. Meerapur and Majahwan were won by BJP allies, RLD and NISHAD party, respectively.
MP assembly adjourned after ruckus over Rahul Gandhi's remarks

BJP's Asansol MLA Agnimitra Paul and three other legislators held the protest, demanding punishment for those involved in the two incidents. She told reporters that the BJP legislators staged the demonstration outside the assembly premises to make people aware of the fact that women of West Bengal are "not safe" under the Trinamool Congress rule.
Sultanpur court asks Rahul Gandhi to make personal appearance on July 26 in defamation case
The suit against Gandhi alleges that the Congress leader made objectionable remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which was filed in 2018, by BJP leader Vijay Mishra. Originally, the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition was supposed to appear before the Sultanpur court today but could not do so due to the ongoing Parliament session.
CBI summons TMC MLA Tapas Saha in recruitment scam
The CBI has summoned ruling Trinamool Congress MLA Tapas Saha to appear for questioning on Friday in connection with alleged irregularities in state government department recruitments, according to an official. Saha, the Tehatta MLA, is being investigated for his involvement in the recruitment scam. Saha confirmed that he will comply with the CBI's summons for questioning.
