    Aadhar authentication for LPG is being done to check bogus customers: Hardeep Singh Puri

    Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced that oil marketing companies are implementing eKYC Aadhaar authentication for LPG customers to tackle bogus accounts used by gas distributors for commercial cylinders. This move follows concerns raised by Kerala's Leader of the Opposition, VD Satheesan, about the challenges faced by consumers during the mustering process, which involves verifying Aadhaar details during cylinder delivery. Minister Puri assured that steps are being taken to address any inconvenience and emphasized the importance of preventing the misuse of subsidized cylinders.

He emphasised formulating guidelines in collaboration with CPCB and MoPNG, QR codes for cylinders, and potentially extending licence durations.     ATF price hiked 1.2% after a 6.5% cut seen in June

    Jet fuel prices saw a 1.2% hike on Monday, with Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) rising to Rs 96,148.38 per kl in Delhi, following a previous 6.5% reduction on June 1. In Mumbai, ATF reached Rs 89,908.30 per kl. Meanwhile, commercial LPG prices for hotels and restaurants were cut by Rs 30 per 19-kg cylinder to Rs 1,646.
