    Star announces sign language commentary for India matches at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

    Disney Star has joined hands with India Signing Hands (ISH), a Mumbai-based broadcast company, to add Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation to its feed. There will be an audio descriptive feed for the visually impaired fans. The announcement was made on the Global Accessibility Awareness Day, which is observed on the third Thursday of May.

The broadcaster also saw an 18% growth in minutes of total watch time, with 35,600 crore minutes spent. The IPL continues to attract fans with high-scoring matches and intense games.

    Disney Star has reported a 5% increase in TV viewership for the Tata IPL, with a cumulative reach of 47.5 crore viewers in the first 34 matches. The broadcaster also saw an 18% growth in minutes of total watch time, with 24,500 crore minutes spent. The Mumbai Indians vs. Chennai Super Kings match saw 6.3 crore concurrent viewers, setting a new benchmark for viewership concurrency.

    IPL 2024 smashes viewership records: 45 crore viewers tune in on Star Sports for 26 matches so far

    ​​According to BARC data, Disney Star has amassed a cumulative reach of 44.8 crore viewers over the first 22 days, comprising 26 matches of TATA IPL 2024. This surge in viewership translates to a staggering total watch-time of 18,800 crore minutes.

    ​​The broadcaster also recorded a staggering 12,380 crore minutes of watch time, indicating a notable 15% growth compared to the 2023 edition. Additionally, the TVR (Television Viewership Rating) witnessed a 17% increase compared to the previous year.

    Record 35 cr tuned in to watch first 10 IPL matches on TV

    As per Broadcast Audience Research Council data for 2+ age groups across urban and rural markets, the overall watch time for the tournament has jumped 29% to 8,028 crore minutes, compared to the previous year. In the previous edition, 30.7 crore viewers tuned in to watch the first 10 matches of the IPL, which translated to a watch time of 6,230 crore minutes.
