Large and listed developers, holding a 34% market share, ensure timely deliveries. Southern cities like Chennai (3.6 years) and Hyderabad (4.2 years) excel in quick completions, unlike northern cities including NCR, which face delays due to weather and statutory restrictions.
DDA to not carry out demolition drive in Majnu Ka Tila on Saturday, Sunday: Sources
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will not carry out a demolition drive against encroachment on the Yamnua flood plain near Majnu Ka Tila gurdwara on Saturday and Sunday. The DDA has requested residents to vacate the area by Friday, citing the National Green Tribunal's April 3 order and the Delhi High Court's March 12 order.
Delhi High Court orders income tax exemption for Noida
The Delhi High Court has directed the income tax department to grant income tax exemption to the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) under Section 10(46) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The court rejected the Central Board of Direct Taxes' decision that denied NOIDA's request for tax exemptions, stating that the revenue department erred in categorizing NOIDA's activities as commercial.

Eldeco Infrastructure and Properties Ltd has acquired a 20,000 sq metre land near the upcoming Jewar airport in Noida through an auction by YEIDA for Rs 96.86 crore. Purvanchal Projects, another Noida-based developer, purchased a 40,000 sq metre plot nearby for Rs 149.47 crore. Both acquisitions are for group housing projects, expected to feature high-rise developments.
