With killer tiger on the prowl, 36 villages put on alert in MP's Raisen

JSW Steel gets possession of 2,678-acre forest land in Odisha for plant
JSW Utkal Steel has acquired 2,677.80 acres of forest land in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha, for a 13.2 million tonne integrated steel plant. The company has received environmental clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment & Forest and Climate Change, which was re-validated in September last year. JSW Steel will need 2,950.31 acres of land for the project, with 272.51 acres already leased to the company by the state government.

JSW Steel's subsidiary, JSW Utkal Steel, has received documents for the possession of 2677.80 acres of forest land for a greenfield Integrated Steel Plant (ISP). The total land required for the plant is 2950.31 acres, with 2677.80 acres forest land and 272.51 acres non-forest land. The plant is expected to cost around Rs 65,000 crore and could take up to 5-7 years to reach its full capacity.
