    DU launches portal for admission to 71000 UG seats. Check website link and other key details

    On Tuesday, the University of Delhi unveiled a new online portal for admissions to its undergraduate programs for the academic year 2024-25. Prospective candidates can now register for DU CSAS UG 2024 through the university's website. The university offers a total of 79 undergraduate programs across 69 colleges, providing a combined seat capacity of 71,000. Admission decisions will hinge upon applicants' merit scores in the Common University Entrance Test for undergraduate programs (CUET-UG), administered by the National Testing Agency.

    Delhi University is set to release the first merit allocation list for undergraduates today. The list will determine seat allocation based on the merit positions of students, with interviews for Christian minority students beginning the same day. Merit scores will be calculated using the normalised CUET scores provided by the National Testing Agency.

    Under the existing system, 50 per cent of Post graduate admissions are done directly for students who did their bachelor's degrees from the university based on their merit in their qualifying examinations. The remaining 50 per cent seats are filled based on candidates' ranks in the Delhi University postgraduate entrance test.

    In the third round of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), admissions are being done to all supernumerary quotas, including ECA, sports, CW and Kashmiri migrants along with regular admissions. Colleges will verify and approve the online applications from November 14 to 16. The last date for online payment of admission fees is November 17.
