Indian Coast Guard rescues 26 persons from tourist boat stranded off Goa coast
The Indian Coast Guard rescued 24 passengers and two crew members from the tourist ferry boat 'Nerul Paradise' near Mormugao harbour in Goa. The boat faced rough weather conditions and fuel exhaustion on Sunday, with waves over three meters high. Departing from Panjim with tourists on board, the boat was stranded off the Goa coast. Responding swiftly to distress signals, personnel from the Coast Guard ship C-148 reached the vessel and stabilized the situation.

Adani-Total Gas betting big on LNG to fuel growth
Adani Total Gas aims to boost the adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a primary fuel for long-haul commercial vehicles, replacing diesel. The company plans to establish 50 LNG dispensing stations along national highways in the next few years. ATGL is engaging with stakeholders, including auto ancillaries, OEMs, fleet operators, and retrofitment players, to overcome distribution challenges.
Two pollution tests must for vehicles with flex fuel option
All bi-fuel vehicles with flex fuel option will have to undergo tests for both gaseous pollutants as well as particulate mass and number when seeking vehicle type approval under BS VI emission norms. However, hydrogen-run vehicles will have to undergo tests only for emissions of nitrogen oxide, the ministry of road transport and highways said in a notification on applicability of test requirements for type approvals.

Monaco-based firm FOWE Eco Solutions has developed a patented technology that emulsifies fuel oil with water, reducing emissions and improving energy yield. The process, known as cavitation, allows for the emulsification of fuel oil with fresh water, without requiring additives or further processing. The technology has been successfully tested, resulting in a reduction in particulate matter and greenhouse gas emissions. FOWE is offering this technology to Indian refiners, with German multinational MAN Energy Solution recently giving approval for its use in marine engines. The emulsified fuel has shown significant fuel efficiency improvements and environmental benefits.
