    BFSI firms' share rises to 29 pc in total gross office space leasing in Sep qtr across 9 major cities: CBRE

    Overall, the consultant said that gross office leasing activity increased by 33 per cent Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) to 15.8 million square feet during the July-September period across nine cities -- Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi and Ahmedabad.

    E-commerce firms' share in Indian warehouse leasing fell to 3% amid declining demand due to the pandemic, compared to over 20% during Covid-19. Physical retailers rented 14% space during the first half of this year, as they witnessed a demand resurgence, according to Savills India. E-commerce had more than a fifth of warehouse space in 2020. Third-party logistics accounted for 44% of the total absorption in H1, followed by manufacturing, retail and fast-moving consumer goods. Experts said companies are also looking to outsource space they had taken during the pandemic.

The report points out that office leasing increased by 12% Q-o-Q and touched 13.9 mn. sq. ft. during the April-June’23 period.

    RBI looking for at least 50,000 sq ft office space in BKC, South Mumbai

    According to an Expression of Interest (EoI) floated by the RBI, the acquisition of office premises is proposed on a long-term lease basis for a minimum 40,000 square feet carpet area located in and around BKC within a radius of 5 km from its BKC office.
