    BJP announces revamp of Punjab unit

    The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a revamp of its Punjab unit, appointing new office bearers. The revamped team includes a mix of old and new guards, with former chief minister Amarinder Singh and other prominent leaders being inducted into the core group.

    Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday supervised a drive to free 2,828 acres of "illegally encroached" prime land worth over Rs 300 crore from 15 people, including the children of Sangrur MP Simranjit Singh Mann and former minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar.

    Congress constitutes election committee for Punjab

    The party also approved a proposal for the appointment of the president and working presidents to 28 district Congress committees in Punjab. The state has 23 districts, of which Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala, Jalandhar and Bathinda have more than one committee.
