    Three suspected JeM terrorists killed in gunfight with security forces in J&K's Doda

    Three terrorists, suspected to be affiliated with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit, were killed in a gunfight that lasted over six hours in a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. The incident occurred amid an intensified cordon-and-search operation launched by the police, Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) following twin terrorist attacks in the hill district on June 11 and 12. Security forces intensified their anti-terrorist operations and announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh each on information about four Pakistani terrorists believed to have infiltrated the district.

    The terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district unfolded in a tense sequence, starting with two suspected infiltrators seeking water from villagers, who grew suspicious and raised an alarm. The terrorists responded with indiscriminate firing, injuring one person. Security forces engaged the terrorists, killing one while the other continued to resist. CRPF jawan Kabir Dass was critically injured and later succumbed to his wounds. Despite the intensity, DIG Sunil Gupta and SSP Anayat Ali Choudhary narrowly escaped harm. This incident follows a recent attack on a bus carrying pilgrims, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the region.

    One terrorist killed, civilian injured in J&K's Kathua district

    Suspected militants critically injured a civilian in Hiranagar area of Kathua district in Jammu. The incident took place in Saida Sukhal village. One attacker was killed in the search operation by armed forces.

    The alertness of security forces foiled several other attempts by terrorists to carry out attacks using "sticky bombs" in the past over one year with the latest being timely detection of one such IED on the Sidhra bypass in the outskirts of Jammu on April 28.
