    The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) has urged the government to grant infrastructure status to all hotels and convention centers costing Rs 10 crore or more.       As many as 458 infra projects hit by cost overrun of Rs 5.71 lakh cr in May

      In May this year, 458 infrastructure projects in India, each with an investment of Rs 150 crore or more, experienced a cost overrun totaling more than Rs 5.71 lakh crore, according to an official report. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), which oversees infrastructure projects worth Rs 150 crore and above, highlighted that out of 1,817 monitored projects, 458 faced cost overruns and 831 projects were delayed.

      NHAI's infra trust got $217.13 mn in FY24 from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board

      Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) announced investments totaling USD 217.13 million in the National Highways Infra Trust and USD 394.78 million in Interise Trust for road concessions acquisition. Additionally, they committed USD 100 million to Kedaara Capital Fund IV and USD 300 million to an India-based asset manager focusing on credit opportunities. The organization manages funds for over 22 million contributors and beneficiaries of the Canada Pension Plan, investing globally in various asset classes.

      NCLT allows IL&FS Transportation Networks to offload shares in an expressway project

      The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has granted permission to IL&FS Transportation Networks to sell its shares in Moradabad Bareilly Expressway to Roadstar Infra Investment Trust. The transfer involves 3,21,40,691 equity shares, representing a 14.5% stake. The transaction, approved by IL&FS's new board and ITNL Board in October 2023, received no objection from Union Bank of India. The tribunal allowed IL&FS to proceed with the sale as per the terms of the share purchase agreement with Axis Trustee Services Limited and Roadstar Investment Managers.

In mid-2023, Goswami Infratech raised Rs14,300 crore zero coupon bonds maturing in April 2026, offering 18.75% as a redemption premium. These bonds also have a so-called most favoured nation (MFN) clause, which says that if any Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) group affiliate borrows at a higher rate after May 26, 2024, Goswami Infratech will have to offer the same return to its bondholders.
