    Over 1,61,000 people affected by floods in Assam; landslide kills 5

    Heavy flooding and landslides have caused significant devastation in Assam and Meghalaya. In Assam, floods have affected over 1.61 lakh people across 15 districts since Cyclone Remal hit in May, resulting in approximately 30 deaths. Karimganj district is the worst hit, with 1,52,133 people affected and extensive damage to crops and livestock. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with 5,114 people taking shelter in relief camps amid submerged villages.

    Assam floods: Death toll touches 25, over 10 districts affected

    The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) reported that 5 people drowned in Cachar district, a woman died in Nagaon district, and a child died due to urban flooding in Kamrup (Metro) district on Tuesday.
