These include 13 seats each in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, nine in West Bengal, eight in Bihar, six in Odisha, four in Himachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand, and one in Chandigarh. Additionally, elections for 42 Assembly seats in Odisha are also scheduled to take place.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium in Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency. The Uttar Pradesh government said that it has spent Rs 121 crore to acquire the land for the stadium while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will spend Rs 330 crore on its construction.
