The BJP has announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, including prominent leaders and Bhojpuri stars. The list includes PM Modi from Varanasi and Amit Shah from Gandhinagar. The party has fielded four Bhojpuri actors, including Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirahua, and Pawan Singh, in key constituencies. The BJP has also announced candidates for various seats across different states, replacing 33 sitting MPs with new faces.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its initial list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha election, featuring over 195 names. Notable figures include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 34 Union Ministers and Minister of States, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and two former Chief Ministers. The list includes 28 women, 27 SC, 57 OBC candidates, and 47 candidates below 50 years of age.

The power department officers tendered an apology to the commission for generating a wrong electricity bill of Rs 2.24 lakh and said they had reduced the bill to Rs 3,998.
