Jammu region witnesses 29 terrorist attacks since 2021

27 Militants killed in J&K showing fall of 75% YoY
The security forces have gunned down 27 militants in Jammu and Kashmir in the first six months of 2023. Of those killed, 19 were foreign terrorists and 8 local militants, indicating a decline of more than 75% in killing of militants as compared to 2022 when 126 militants, including 34 foreigners, were killed between January and June, 2022.

The searches were conducted at three locations in the Kashmir in the residential premises of alleged sympathisers, cadres, hybrid militants and Over Ground Workers linked with the newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of several proscribed Pakistan-backed militant outfits, such as Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, AI-Badr, AL-Qaeda and others.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches at 15 locations in Jammu and Kashmir's seven districts in the Pakistan-backed terrorist conspiracy case. The Central anti-terror agency officials carried out the search operation at four places in Anantnag, three in Shopian, two each in Budgam, Srinagar and Poonch, and one each in Baramulla and Rajouri districts in the Union Territory.
