    The average asset of sitting MLAs in state assemblies and union territories is Rs 13.63 crore, according to a finding by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW). The nonprofits analysed the election affidavits of 4001 MLAs out of 4033 across 28 State Assemblies and two union Territories. The MLAs represent 84 political parties and independents.

    235 people arrested for infiltration in Tripura in the last three years, says Chief Minister Saha

    Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has reported that over 235 individuals have been arrested for infiltrating the state over the past three years. The government is working to strengthen security measures along the international borders with Bangladesh, with 50 km of the border held back by various obstacles including the objection of the Border Guard of Bangladesh. Saha has also urged the Central government to deploy a dedicated National Disaster Response Force battalion permanently in Tripura, adding that the state government has taken measures to set up the team.
