    LS polls: Srinagar records voter turnout at 36.58 pc, highest since 1996

    The Srinagar constituency recorded 36.58 per cent voting till 8 pm, the Election Commission of India said. This was the first general election in the valley after the abrogation of Article 370 and the enactment of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, the EC said in a statement.

    PDP's Para moves High Court seeking nod to travel abroad

    Wahid ur Rehman Para, the leader of the People's Democratic Party, has approached J&K High Court to seek permission to travel abroad after his request to travel was rejected by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court. Para had sought permission to travel to the USA to pursue a three-month inaugural Peace Fellowship Programme at Yale University.

    PAGD wins 94/241 seats declared so far in J&K's DDC elections

    Gupkar Declaration has won 94 seats in the first District Development Council elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Out of a total of 280 seats, the 7-party alliance won seats mainly in the Kashmir valley, while BJP won 68 seats, 65 in the Jammu region.
