Ajmer: Police have arrested a man and his son from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly firing at a marble businessman from Kishangarh and cheating him out of Rs 80 lakh.
According to Kishangarh police, on June 11, Ramchandra Yadav, a resident of Madanganj Kishangarh, filed a complaint stating that he and his brother Mahendra three years ago began selling marble to Manish Gupta, a resident of Meerut.
Gupta bought marble worth Rs 80 lakh but later refused to make payment and started sourcing marble from another supplier.
On the same day, June 11, Gupta and his son Aniket Gupta visited Kishangarh to buy marble from another trader. Yadav alleged that when he approached them to settle the dues, they started abusing and threatening him and attempted to kill him. The report further alleged that Gupta pulled out a pistol during the confrontation. Yadav then followed the duo and stopped them at a toll booth in Kishangarh, where Gupta once again drew his pistol and fired at him, a bullet which Yadav narrowly escaped.
Following the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and arrested Gupta (55) and Aniket Gupta (24). Police recovered a pistol, four live cartridges, one spent cartridge, and the vehicle used during the incident.
